Basic Research Integrating Disciplines in Geosciences Network, BRIDGe

The Bridge network aims to discover and research novel cross-boundary scientific questions, inducing the synergy among its participants by means of a horizontal self-organized framework and bottom-up integrative approach to the Earth System. The network is committed to the effective and wide dissemination of research findings. This implies open access publishing for peer-reviewed articles, public databases; and, the development of new tools for scientific use as well as the transmission of knowledge to policy-makers and to the general public. Currently, we are looking for funding at Cost Action and RISE.

Proposals looking for funding:

Topography & Biomigration Feedbacks

In this project, we strive to unfold some feedbacks among topographic, biologic and human evolution. We adopt a meta-analysis approach to find first-order trends and tip-points. We investigate the evolution, settlement and migration of biological species and early humans during the Quartenary, alongside with topography, and compilations of edaphic quality and use. We analyse the recent history of tectonic motions and topographic growth by means of marine terraces and active faults and constrain landscape evolution of key areas by analysing other topographic features such a slope or rugosity.
